Regular Routine Skin Checks

Most patients are exposed to the sun during their teenage years and twenties and occasionally gets sunburnt.  As a result they may be at risk to develop any of the various forms of skin cancers.  Dermatologist are trained to pick up skin cancers at a very early stage.  Often skin cancers are diagnosed without the patient even being aware of their existence.  This applies especially to the areas which the patient cannot see such as the back of the scalp, neck, back and back of the legs.

It is recommended that all patients after the age of eighteen have three yearly have checks of their skin by a knowledgeable doctor or dermatologist.  In patients with multiple moles it is advice-able to have a base line created somewhere during their school years.  An appointment can be made with any of the dermatologist at skinmatters for a routine skin check.
